Teaching Assistant – SEND Intervention Support | Nelson | Starting after October half-term | Long-term temp

A forward-thinking secondary school in Nelson is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in small group intervention sessions. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

Starting after the October half-term, the successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to deliver targeted interventions to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will support pupils with a range of needs, helping them to build confidence, improve academic progress, and develop essential life skills in a supportive and structured environment.

We are looking for someone with experience working with SEND students, ideally within a secondary school setting. A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred. You should be patient, proactive, and able to build positive relationships with students and staff alike. Strong communication skills and a flexible approach are essential.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact in a school that values inclusion and personal development. If you’re ready to take the next step in your education career and support young people in reaching their potential, we’d love to hear from you.
