SEND administrator job based in a secondary school, Sheffield.

Your new company

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Sheffield is seeking an experienced SEND Administrator to join their team on an interim basis this September. This school is passionate about ensuring every student receives the support they need to thrive, and you'll play a vital role in helping that happen behind the scenes.

Your new role

As the SEND Administrator, you'll work closely with the SENCO, students, parents, and external agencies to ensure SEND processes run smoothly and efficiently. You'll be the organisational powerhouse that keeps everything on track.
Your responsibilities will include:
✅ Providing administrative support to the SENCO and wider inclusion team
✅ Maintaining accurate SEND records and student files
✅ Coordinating annual reviews and SEND meetings
✅ Liaising with parents, staff, local authorities, and external professionals
✅ Managing confidential documentation and reports
✅ Supporting Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) administration
✅ Updating school systems and tracking SEND data
✅ Assisting with statutory processes and compliance requirements

What you'll need to succeed

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy school environment.
You'll ideally have:
Previous administration experience, ideally within education or SEND
Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities
Experience handling sensitive and confidential information
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to work independently and use initiative
A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
We will need to be able to obtain references to cover the last 2 years as a minimum and you will need to be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check if you don't already have a DBS on the update service
