Job Description: SEND Administrator
Location: Northium Contract Type: Part Time, 3 Days a week
Purpose of the Role
The SEND Administrator will provide high-quality administrative support to the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) department, ensuring the smooth running of processes that enable effective provision for pupils with dyslexia and associated learning needs. This role is central to maintaining accurate records, supporting compliance with statutory requirements, and enabling staff to deliver tailored support to students.
Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support
    • Maintain and update SEND records, including Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and provision maps.
    • Support the SENCO by scheduling reviews, meetings, and annual reviews.
    • Prepare documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Local Authority, parents, external agencies).
  • Communication & Liaison
    • Act as the first point of contact for SEND-related queries from parents, staff, and external professionals.
    • Coordinate communication between teaching staff, support staff, and external agencies.
    • Ensure parents receive timely updates and information regarding their child’s support.
  • Compliance & Data Management
    • Ensure SEND records are accurate, confidential, and compliant with GDPR and safeguarding requirements.
    • Monitor deadlines for statutory reviews and ensure all paperwork is submitted on time.
    • Support the SENCO in collating data for inspections, audits, and school performance reviews.
  • Operational Support
    • Assist in organising training sessions for staff on dyslexia and SEND strategies.
    • Support the allocation of resources and timetables for learning support staff.
    • Contribute to the development of inclusive practices across the school.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting, ideally within SEND.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
