SEN Teaching Assistant role in Walsall, Starting in September

This primary school is a vibrant, inclusive community school located in the heart of Walsall. As part of a trust, the school is committed to raising aspirations and delivering high-quality education for all children. The school serves a diverse population and prides itself on its values of respect, tolerance, and creativity. The newly established provision supports children with communication and interaction needs in a bespoke, nurturing environment.

You will join a dedicated team working in a resourced provision classroom, supporting up to 8 children in KS2 alongside the class teacher and two additional Teaching Assistants.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with SEND in their learning and development
  • Promoting independence and emotional wellbeing
  • Assisting with planning and delivering tailored activities
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment

What you'll need to succeed

  • A Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children with SEND, ideally in KS2
  • A calm, patient and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
