SEN Teaching Assistants required to work in mainstream schools in Birmingham. Easter start. Full and part-time

Your new school

Hays Education works closely with many mainstream schools across the Birmingham and Sandwell areas, providing teaching assistant support on a day-to-day and long-term basis. There is currently a high demand for SEN specialist Teaching Assistants and jobs are available on a temporary and permanent basis. Working with Hays on a supply basis, means that you can work the hours that suit you and your work/life balance.

Your new role

Hays are currently recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants to start immediately in Birmingham and Sandwell. These jobs are available on a long-term basis, which means you could be working from one term up to the whole academic year. Ideally, you will be available full-time. However, part-time options are also available.

Many of the schools are easily accessible by public transport. However, it would be an advantage if you do drive. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to work with children of specific age groups and educational needs on a 1:1 or small group basis.

What you'll need to succeed

You must have SEN experience within a childcare environment, including schools, nurseries and social care settings. Ideally, you will have worked with children that are diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Global Delay and those that present challenging behaviours.

You must be flexible and should you be successful in securing an SEN TA job, you will be committed to supporting the child for the length of time required.

What you'll get in return

  • Competitive rates of pay
  • Ongoing support from your dedicated Hays consultant
  • A rewarding placement within a school that values your specialist SEND expertise
  • Opportunity to work in a variety of schools
