Your New Job
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? Hays Education is recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Tameside, Greater Manchester. This full-time role involves working with pupils aged 4–16 who have a range of additional needs including autism spectrum conditions (ASC), speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You’ll work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver personalised learning, manage behaviour positively, and help pupils achieve their individual targets. What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ideally in a school, care, or youth work setting
  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach to behaviour and communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting children with additional needs
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply through Hays)
