Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a single-form entry primary school in Ellesmere Port that is at the heart of its local community and easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to appoint an experienced SEN professional to support pupils with complex needs across the year 1 and 2 classes. This is a full-time temporary long-term role within an extremely supportive school. With this being a position with high needs, it would be the perfect opportunity for someone wanting to transition to the classroom from a children's residential background.


Your new role

As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be joining an extremely welcoming, supportive and experienced team of teachers and teaching support staff. You will support your new colleagues in the delivery of inclusive and stimulating lessons by aiding in general classroom and behaviour management as well as aiding in general classroom management. Across the KS1 cohort, they have a number of pupils with profound SEN with complex requirements. You will offer comprehensive support to pupils with profound needs on a timetabled basis with duties that will include:

  • SALT including Makaton
  • Aiding in mobility
  • Personal care
  • Behaviour management

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, referenceable experience supporting within a SEND or residential setting, and:

  • Be able to commit to a full-time long-term contract
  • Be comfortable completing personal care requirements
  • Experience supporting profound low-functioning needs
