SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary 1:1

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 support (Year 5)
Location: BD2, Bradford
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term (until March 2026)
Salary: Competitive rates based on experience

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting a child on a 1:1 basis?
We are recruiting for a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work closely with a Year 5 pupil in a primary school in Bradford. This full-time position starts in January 2026 and runs for two months.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil with additional needs.
  • Implement strategies to support emotional regulation, learning, and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.
  • Track progress and contribute to reviews and planning meetings.

Essential Requirements:
  • Proven experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of autism, ADHD, or other learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach.

Desirable:
  • Relevant qualifications in supporting teaching and learning (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, CACHE).
  • Experience with EHCPs and personalised learning plans.
