SEN Teaching Assistant – Kettering

Location: Kettering
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support inclusive and nurturing schools across Kettering. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine impact while building your experience within a supportive educational environment.

Your new school
You will be joining a welcoming school in Kettering that is committed to providing high‑quality support for pupils with a wide range of additional needs. The staff team is friendly, collaborative and focused on creating the best possible outcomes for every learner. As part of the SEN team, your role will be valued and central to pupils’ daily progress and development.

Your new role
You’ll be working closely with students who may require support due to a variety of needs, including:

  • Autism/ASC
  • Learning difficulties
  • Communication and interaction needs
  • Cognition delays
  • Physical or sensory needs
  • Social or emotional barriers

No two days are the same—your role will involve personalised support, classroom assistance, helping manage routines, and encouraging engagement and independence. You’ll be expected to lead by example, maintain professionalism and uphold strong safeguarding and care practices.

What you'll need to succeed
We’re looking for caring, adaptable and proactive individuals who genuinely want to help young people thrive. You don’t need prior SEN experience—just a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and the motivation to make a difference. Training and guidance can be provided for the right candidate.

Desirable experience/qualifications
  • GCSE/O’Level or equivalent
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable)
  • A valid driving licence due to location
