SEN Teaching Assistant – Coventry (Permanent)

Location: Coventry
Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Interview Date: 3rd July
Working Pattern: Full-time and part-time (2–5 days per week available)

About The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established specialist setting in Coventry to recruit dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants on a permanent basis.

This is an opportunity to join a setting that is highly structured, well-supported, and focused on delivering meaningful outcomes for students with additional needs.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting learners both academically and personally, enabling them to build independence, develop confidence, and engage positively in their day-to-day learning.

The Role

This is a hands-on, varied position where no two days are the same. You will work closely with students across the school day, supporting them in lessons, during transitions, and in less structured environments.

You will be expected to:

  • Provide 1:1 support and small group support tailored to individual needs
  • Assist in delivering adapted learning activities within the classroom
  • Help students to develop independence, communication, and life skills
  • Support during break times and unstructured periods
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
  • Monitor and record student progress and development
  • Provide personal care when required, supporting students with dignity and respect

What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for candidates who are committed, reliable, and genuinely motivated to support young people with additional needs.

You should have:

  • Experience in SEN, education, care, or support work
  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive, trusting relationships
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to support where needed
  • Confidence working with a range of needs, including complex needs

What you'll get in return

  • A permanent position offering long-term stability
  • A supportive and experienced team environment
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Clear structure and expectations within your role
  • The opportunity to build a rewarding career in SEN education

Interview Process

Interviews will take place on 3rd July as part of a structured recruitment day.
All candidates must be available to attend on this date.
