SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism and Complex Needs Specialist
Location: Coventry Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Full-Time, Long Term (Potential to become permanent)

We are currently seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex autism-related needs. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to students with autism and complex behavioural needs
  • Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to implement individual learning plans
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Use de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour support techniques when required
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience supporting children or adults with ASD and/or challenging behaviours
  • Strong understanding of autism and associated needs
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable in a dynamic school setting
  • Immediate availability for full-time work
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in specialist settings or with non-verbal communication methods
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or health and social care
  • Team teaching or similar behaviour management training (preferred but not essential)
