SEN Teacher

SEN Teacher – EYFS (Non‑Verbal Child)

Location: Bebington, Wirral Pay: £130–£180 per day (depending on experience)

Working pattern: Full-Time, Term-Time Contract: Starting ASAP

Your new company
Hays Education is working in partnership with a warm, inclusive primary school in Bebington, Wirral, to recruit a dedicated EYFS SEN Teacher. The school has a strong commitment to supporting pupils with complex needs and offers a highly collaborative SEN provision.

Your new role
You will take lead responsibility for teaching and supporting an EYFS pupil with non-verbal communication needs, delivering highly personalised learning within a nurturing early years environment.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Planning and delivering differentiated EYFS lessons tailored to individual SEND needs
  • Using alternative communication strategies such as PECS, visuals, and sensory approaches
  • Supporting emotional regulation and engagement through structured routines
  • Monitoring progress and adapting provision in line with EHCP targets
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants, the SENCO, and external professionals
  • Creating a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and development

What you’ll need to succeed
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching children with SEND, particularly non-verbal or communication-based needs
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and inclusive practice
  • Patience, adaptability, and a nurturing approach
  • Confidence working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
