SEN Teacher- Leicester

Your new school

A welcoming and nurturing specialist provision committed to delivering high-quality education for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) are seeking a full time SEN Teacher to join their school. The school places the child at the centre of everything they do, with a strong focus on communication, inclusion, wellbeing, and personalised learning pathways.

You will be joining a highly supportive team of experienced teachers, therapists, and support staff who work collaboratively to ensure every pupil is valued, understood, and enabled to reach their full potential.


Your new role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis with an immediate start. You will have responsibility for planning and delivering engaging, meaningful lessons tailored to pupils with PMLD/SLD needs.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Creating and delivering personalised, sensory-rich learning experiences
  • Using specialist strategies to support communication, cognition, and physical development
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and families
  • Monitoring progress through EHCP outcomes and individual targets
  • Promoting a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
This role is ideal for a teacher who is committed to inclusive practice and thrives in a specialist setting.


What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience teaching pupils with PMLD and/or SLD
  • A strong understanding of SEN strategies, sensory learning, and differentiated teaching
  • Experience working with EHCPs and multidisciplinary teams
  • A calm, patient, and compassionate approach
  • High expectations for all pupils and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
Experience with AAC, sensory integration, or medical/physical needs support is highly desirable.
