Part‑time (Thurs & Fri) SEN Teacher needed for primary school (EY&KS1) in Smethwick until July

Your new school

A warm, nurturing and well‑respected primary school in Smethwick is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join their team for the summer term. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, strong leadership and commitment to providing high‑quality support for pupils with significant additional needs. Staff work collaboratively, and the school places a strong emphasis on creating a safe, structured and supportive environment for all learners.

Your new role

This is a part‑time teaching role working Thursdays and Fridays throughout the summer term. You will be based within the school’s specialist provision, supporting around 12-14 pupils in EYFS and Key Stage 1 who have complex needs. The provision is designed to offer a high level of structure, care and personalised learning.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons for pupils with complex needs
  • Creating a calm, nurturing and sensory‑aware learning environment
  • Working closely with support staff to deliver consistent routines and interventions
  • Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation and developmental learning
  • Contributing to EHCP targets and maintaining accurate progress records

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong experience working with children with complex or high‑level SEN needs
  • Confidence supporting pupils with communication difficulties, sensory needs and developmental delays
  • A patient, resilient and compassionate approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively with TAs and the leadership team
