Your New Role:
We are seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join the school’s dedicated support team. You will work with pupils aged 11–16 who have a range of additional needs, including autism spectrum condition (ASC), ADHD, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and moderate learning difficulties. This is a full-time, term-time-only position, offered on a temporary basis initially, with the potential to become a permanent role from September 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN
- Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
- Supporting the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
- Promoting inclusion, engagement, and positive learning outcomes
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ideally in a school, care, or youth work setting
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and emotional needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- A relevant qualification such as
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, or equivalent experience
