SEND Teaching Assistant job, supporting students with complex needs, based in the Wirral on a long term basis.

Your new company

Hays Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a popular secondary school who has a requirement for a TA to support pupils within their resource base. Students have complex needs between the ages of 11 - 16. This is an extremely supporting and welcoming school that requires long-term full-time support from an experienced SEN professional for pupils with complex and medical needs.

Your new role

In your new role as a teaching assistant within this school, you will be joining a team of like-minded SEN professionals. You will offer comprehensive child-led support, working both 1:1 and in small groups. You will work alongside the class teacher and three other teaching assistants and your duties will include:
• Completing speech and language support
• Mobility support
• Working alongside external specialists, including speech and language and physiotherapists
• Completing personal/intimate care requirements, such as feeding tubes.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, referenceable experience supporting complex and profound needs, and:

Be able to commit to a full-time contract 32.5 hours per week
Experience supporting mobility needs
Experience supporting speech and language requirements
Be comfortable completing personal and intimate care requirements
