Your new company

Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting an extremely supportive and inclusive SEND primary school in Northwich. This school is looking to appoint at least 2 teaching assistants for long-term full-time temporary contracts to support a year 5 class consisting of 8 pupils with SEMH. You will play an integral part in the education of a small group of pupils with SEMH (social emotional mental health), working in collaboration with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to deliver a trauma-informed approach to education, ensuring that each pupil's emotional and academic needs are met.
Other duties will include:
  • Implementing positive behaviour strategies
  • Interventions and boosters in core subjects
  • Working on pupils' mindfulness and wellbeing
  • Emotional literacy support

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, relevant referenceable classroom experience, and:
  • Experience supporting SEMH/behavioural needs within a classroom environment
  • The ability to take a trauma-informed approach
  • Be able to commit to a full-time contract (32.5 hours per week)
