Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience delivering structured interventions and working 1:1 or in small groups? We have an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Northampton!

About the job:
  • Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Northampton
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract: Full-time, Temporary
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, school hours

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Deliver structured intervention programmes tailored to individual learning plans
  • Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and pastoral staff to support student progress.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

    What you'll need to succeed:
  • Previous experience supporting students with SEMH or similar needs
  • Confident in delivering structured interventions
  • Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential)
