We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time, ongoing temporary basis within a supportive school environment.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and who can provide consistent, positive support to help pupils engage with learning and manage their behaviour effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a one‑to‑one and small group basis
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering structured and engaging lessons
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Supporting the implementation of individual behaviour and support plans
- Ensuring safeguarding and wellbeing remain a priority at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural or additional needs
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine commitment to making a positive impact
