Teaching Assistant – SEMH Provision | September Start | Permanent Opportunity

We are working in partnership with a highly-regarded SEMH provision who are seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.


Your new role

As a Teaching Assistant in this specialist setting, you will:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to support individual learning plans
  • Use de-escalation strategies and trauma-informed approaches to manage behaviour positively


What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or in alternative provisions
  • Calm, patient, and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player with a proactive and flexible attitude
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, or similar) are desirable but not essential.
