Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? Hays are looking for dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistants
to join our network of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) schools across Greater Manchester.

Location:
Various Schools across Greater Manchester
Contract Types: Day to Day Supply, Long-term Temporary, Temp to Perm
Rates: Up to £125/day

Types of Schools You’ll Work In:

  • Primary and Secondary School – with a high percentage of pupils with special needs and disabilities or specialist SEND units
  • SEMH – (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Primary and Secondary Schools
  • PRU – Pupil Referral Units
  • Specific Provision – HI (Hearing impairment), VI (Visual Impairment), ASD (Autism), PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities), SLD/PD (Significant learning difficulties/Physical disabilities)
  • Alternative Provision – Tailored education for pupils unable to attend mainstream schools
  • Young Offender Institutions / Secure Schools – Supporting education for young people in custody

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience supporting children with SEND or SEMH needs (school or care setting).
  • Relevant Qualifications are beneficial, but not essential! (TA Level 2/3, Makaton, BSL, Team Teach or other similar)
  • A passion for supporting children with SEND or SEMH needs
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to adapt to different environments and pupil needs
