Section Engineer job opportunity:Waste Water Treatment

Join a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering major water infrastructure upgrades. You’ll be based on a flagship water treatment site, working alongside a collaborative and experienced team committed to safety, quality, and innovation.
In your new role as Section Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a comprehensive water treatment facility upgrade. You’ll report to the Site Agent and be responsible for:

  • Supervising and supporting the engineering aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Setting out and surveying works, including drainage, concrete, piling, and brickwork.
  • Managing and mentoring trainee and graduate engineers.
  • Maintaining accurate site records, as-built drawings, and inspection/test records.
  • Providing technical guidance and problem-solving support to the project team.
  • Ensuring quality control and proactively identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Preparing and communicating short-term programmes and schedules for your section of work.
  • Participating in daily briefings and contributing to a positive, safety-focused site culture.
What you’ll need to succeed

  • Previous experience as a Section Engineer on water treatment or heavy civils projects is essential.
  • Strong technical skills in setting out, surveying, and quality assurance.
  • Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience).
  • CAT and Genny training (EUSR Water Hygiene desirable).
  • SMSTS (preferred), CSCS card (white or black)
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and team working skills.
  • Proactive approach and high attention to detail.
