Secondary Teaching Assistant | Wigan | Start ASAP | Long-term

Are you a reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a real impact in a secondary school setting? Hays Education are working with a welcoming and inclusive school in Wigan to recruit a committed TA to provide general classroom support and assist with targeted interventions across Key Stage 3 and 4.
This is a long-term role, starting ASAP, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Your new role:
  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Providing general classroom assistance and helping manage pupil behaviour.
  • Delivering small group and 1:1 interventions to support learning and progress.
  • Assisting with planning and adapting resources for pupils with varying needs.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
What you'll need to succeed:
  • Experience working in a secondary school or with secondary-aged pupils.
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or above preferred).
  • A flexible and proactive approach to supporting learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Hays).
