AZ currently need a scientist for oncology cell biology role in Cambridge.

Role - Scientist
Location - DISC, Cambridge
Duration - 11 months
Inside IR35


Main Responsibilities:
  • Performing cell culture at the highest standard to provide high quality cells for in vivo implantation
  • Providing high quality compound preparation to support in vivo studies by carefully following provided SOPs; troubleshooting of formulations as required
  • Working with experienced pharmacodynamic leads to generate robust experimental design and attentive execution of analysis to consistently produce high quality data from ex vivo samples using RNA and protein profiling techniques eg western blotting, ELISA, qPCR
  • Communicating progress, experimental data and key findings in a clear and concise manner to key stakeholders
  • Generating and maintaining clear experimental records, accurately recording the experimental details


Minimum Requirements:
  • Degree in life sciences (BSc). Additional relevant industrial laboratory experience in pharmacology, in vivo, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related field will be a benefit
  • Proficiency in cell culture
  • Evidence of strong technical and experimental ability to deliver data from the lab
  • Strong communication skills
  • Positive and collaborative team player with willingness to improve and learn new skills
  • Passion for experimental work with a desire to pursue a career from the lab, attention to detail


Additional skills:
  • protein/RNA extraction, western blotting, qPCR, ELISA
