Hays are delighted to be supporting a primary school in South Birmingham in recruiting a Site / Compliance to join their team on an interim basis from January 2026. Your new role

As Site / Compliance Manager, you will take ownership of the daily management, maintenance, and security of our school premises. Your responsibilities will include but not restricted to:

  • Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance across buildings and grounds.
  • Managing utilities and ensuring energy efficiency.
  • Supervising contractors and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations when required
  • Conducting statutory checks and inspections, including fire safety and emergency lighting.
  • Leading risk assessments and implementing robust compliance policies.
  • Acting as key holder and maintaining site security procedures.
  • Managing a small site team and monitoring budgets for premises and cleaning.
This role is pivotal in ensuring our school remains safe, compliant, and welcoming for all. This is a Monday to Friday, on site post.

What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in site management or a similar role, within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in IT systems for compliance tracking.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and flexibility to work outside normal hours when required.
