School Premises Manager | £15 per hour | Full-Time | Shoreham-By-Sea

About the role:
This school is seeking a proactive and experienced School Premises Manager to join their team. This is a key role in ensuring the school buildings, grounds, and facilities are safe, secure, and well-maintained, providing the best possible environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the school site, overseeing maintenance, health and safety, and compliance with statutory regulations. Working closely with senior leaders, you will play a vital part in supporting the smooth running of the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the school buildings and grounds are safe, secure, and fit for purpose.
  • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, liaising with contractors and external agencies.
  • Manage health and safety compliance, including risk assessments, fire safety, and statutory inspections.
  • Supervise site staff and contractors, ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and compliance documentation.
  • Support the movement of furniture, equipment, and deliveries as required.
  • Ensure the safe storage of tools, equipment, and materials in line with COSHH regulations.
  • Contribute to the wider aims of the school, building positive relationships with staff, pupils, and stakeholders.
Person Specification
  1. Previous experience in a Premises, Facilities, or Site Management role (Education setting desirable).
  2. Strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  3. Practical skills in general maintenance and repairs (carpentry, decorating, basic plumbing/electrical).
  4. Ability to manage budgets, contractors, and site staff effectively.
  5. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  6. A flexible, solution-focused approach and willingness to work outside normal hours when required.
