Data Officer Job Available at Secondary School in Oldham
Are you passionate about data, highly numerate, and an Excel whiz? Do you thrive on using technology to make a real impact? A secondary school in Oldham are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Data Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong analytical and IT skills - school experience is not essential, and we welcome applications from recent graduates.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyse, and distribute a range of reports using SIMS as well as platforms such as SISRA, Excel, Power BI, and Class Charts.
- Design and maintain templates and marksheets within the Assessment Manager module of the MIS.
- Support curriculum and pastoral teams with the accurate and timely collection, input, and analysis of data for reporting and progress tracking.
- Develop and produce dashboards and bespoke reports for the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, covering areas such as attendance, behaviour, and academic performance.
- Maintain and support the SIMS Curriculum Module, including timetabling, pupil class allocations, registration groupings, and KS4 options administration.
- Ensure the accurate preparation and timely submission of statutory returns, including the pupil census, in line with Department for Education deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with school staff and central Trust teams to promote consistency and efficiency in data entry, reporting, and analysis.
About You:
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis) and confident with other data tools (e.g. Power BI, Google Sheets).
- A strong passion for this field of work, and a commitment to professional development
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Tech-savvy, quick to learn new systems, and able to troubleshoot IT issues.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, able to explain data clearly to non-specialists.
- Experience with Management Information Systems (e.g. SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom) is desirable but not essential - full training will be provided.
- A degree in a numerate, analytical, or IT-related subject is advantageous but not required.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a busy school environment.
