Full Time
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Contract: Temporary – approximately 4 weeks
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

We are seeking a reliable and experienced School Caretaker to support a school in Newcastle on a full-time temporary basis for approximately 4 weeks.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the school site is safe, secure, and well maintained throughout the school day.
Duties will include:
  • Opening and locking up the school premises
  • Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks
  • Ensuring health and safety standards are met at all times
  • Managing site security and responding to alarms
  • Setting up rooms for school activities and events
  • General caretaking and grounds maintenance duties
Essential Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service – essential for this assignment
  • Previous experience working as a caretaker, ideally within a school environment
  • Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Good practical and DIY skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
