School Caretaker | Heathfield | £23,000-£25,000 per annum | Full-Time | Permanent

This school is seeking a dependable, proactive, and hands-on School Caretaker to join their team. This is a vital role where you’ll be responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for both pupils and staff. From routine maintenance to site security, your contribution will help ensure the school runs smoothly every day.

Key Duties:
  • Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the school grounds and facilities.
  • Managing site security, including opening and locking up.
  • Performing regular health and safety checks.
  • Supporting room setups, deliveries, and school events.
  • Coordinating with external contractors and service providers.
Who we’re looking for:
  • Strong practical skills in maintenance, DIY, and site management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations (COSHH, fire safety, etc.)
  • Reliable, adaptable, and self-motivated approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Prior experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.
