School Caretaker | Haywards Heath | £13.68 - £15.00 per hour | Full-Time | Temporary
A welcoming school in Haywards Heath is seeking a dependable, proactive, and hands-on School Caretaker to join their team. This is a key role in ensuring the school remains a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Duties:
- Perform general maintenance and minor repairs across the site.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of school grounds and facilities.
- Manage site security, including daily opening and locking procedures.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks.
- Assist with room setups, deliveries, and school events.
- Liaise with external contractors and service providers.
Who we’re looking for:
- Strong practical skills in maintenance, DIY, and site management.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations (e.g. COSHH, fire safety).
- A reliable, adaptable, and self-motivated approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- School experience preferred but not essential.
