An "Outstanding" Secondary SEND School in Bolton is seeking an experienced School Business Manager (SBM) to provide essential support to their Senior School Business Manager during a busy period. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to join a highly regarded special school and make an immediate impact. This is a successful and inclusive secondary SEND school, committed to providing high-quality education and care for pupils with a range of additional needs.

Location: Bolton
Contract: Temporary (to support during a period of high workload)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £18-£25/hour DOE

About the Role
This is a traditional School Business Manager role, covering all key operational areas:
  • Finance & Budgeting: Oversee financial management, monitoring budgets, and ensuring compliance with school financial procedures.
  • HR: Support recruitment, staff records, and HR processes.
  • Premises Management: Ensure the school site is safe, secure, and well-maintained.
  • Health & Safety: Maintain robust H&S systems and risk assessments.
  • Work closely with the Senior SBM and leadership team to manage priorities effectively.

Essential Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a School Business Manager (SBM) in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of finance systems, HR processes, and premises management.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
