School Administrator needed for Widnes Secondary School. Immediate Start; Full-time hours
Your new company
Hays Education are working with a secondary school based in Widnes who are looking to appoint a School Administrator/ Receptionist starting asap.
Your new role
This will start off on an interim basis through Hays, though there is the potential for this to become a permanent post for the right person. The system the school uses is SIMS. The team have the capacity to offer training if you have not used this before, making this an ideal first school placement.
Day-to-day duties include:
- Providing a full professional reception service, including greeting visitors to the school and dealing with enquiries from staff, pupils, parents and visitors in the most appropriate manner
- Responding to enquiries including updating appropriate systems, and taking into account any relevant school policies and processes
- Greeting visitors and producing all visitor/staff badges using appropriate software/equipment
- Acknowledging the receipt of all deliveries to the school and franking, sorting and distributing mail
- Managing the booking diaries for the school Mini Bus, and all available meeting/ conference rooms
- Providing administrative support by undertaking basic typing, word processing and other ICT based tasks including the production of simple letters, reports, schedules etc
What you'll need to succeed
If you have experience of working in a multifaceted setting and working on a busy switchboard, then this is the ideal position for you.
You will need to be highly organised with an ability to present yourself professionally both in person and over the phone.
Prior experience in a school and using SIMS would be an advantage, but is not essential as training can be provided.
You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, and, as the first point of contact for the school be confident in promoting the schools ethos to all visitors.
 
 As this is a school based role, placement is dependent on completing an enhanced DBS check as well as completing our Hays Education registration process.
