Your new role

Working on a long-term highways maintenance and improvement contract, they now require a Schemes Delivery Manager. This contract involves a wide range of services aimed at enhancing the quality and safety of the highway network for residents, businesses, and road users across Suffolk.

As a Scheme Delivery Manager, you will play a central role in ensuring the successful delivery of multiple workstreams. You’ll oversee subcontractors and operational teams, ensuring that all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage project programmes to ensure timely, safe, and budget-compliant delivery aligned with HSEQ standards.

  • Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor resources effectively.

  • Engage with stakeholders including network managers, local authorities, community groups, and designers to support project delivery.

  • Ensure all necessary Construction Phase Plans, method statements, and safe systems of work are in place before work begins.

  • Verify that all site personnel, including subcontractors, are competent and appropriately trained.

  • Collaborate with commercial teams and take ownership of the project’s financial performance.

  • Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, work logs, resource usage, and as-built documentation.

  • Support the Area Manager in developing construction programmes, phasing plans, and method statements.

  • Build strong working relationships with key supply chain partners.

  • Contribute to early contractor involvement and buildability assessments, including traffic management planning.

  • Participate in value management and value engineering processes.

  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, procedures, and performance reporting requirements.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

  • CSCS

  • SMSTS / IOSH
