Safeguarding & Compliance Assurance Manager
Location: North Manchester HQ with regular trust wide travel (Greater Manchester).
Full-time (37 hours)
Fixed-term until 31 December 2026
Grade 9: £45,091–£49,282 (SCP 34–38)
We are looking for an experienced safeguarding professional to work across our schools, providing targeted support where risks or weaknesses are identified.
You will work closely with headteachers and DSLs to strengthen safeguarding practice, lead complex safeguarding and SEND investigations, and ensure processes are robust, compliant, and defensible.
Key Responsibilities
•Provide focused support to schools to improve safeguarding systems and practice
•Undertake reviews, audits, and monitoring (including CPOMS dip sampling)
•Lead complex complaints and investigations involving safeguarding and SEND
•Support SEND practice reviews, including EHCP implementation and provision
•Produce clear reports and ensure effective governance and oversight
•Identify risks, track improvement, and support trust-wide learning
About You
•Strong knowledge of safeguarding and SEND in education
•Experience of handling complex or sensitive investigations
•Able to balance challenge with practical support
•Skilled communicator with excellent report writing ability
•Organised, resilient, and able to manage competing priorities
