Purpose

We’re looking for a hands-on Risk Manager to support the development and maintenance of key risk frameworks and assurance processes within a public sector organisation. This is a strategic yet delivery-focused role, ideal for someone with experience in public sector risk management, internal controls, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will help embed best practice in line with HM Treasury’s Managing Public Money (MPM) and the Orange Book, while supporting the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Maintain and update the Risk Register in line with the organisation’s risk appetite, working with internal teams and governance bodies.
  • Develop and refine the Assurance Map, identifying gaps and ensuring it supports the Governance Statement for the Annual Report.
  • Support the risk and assurance processes
  • Engage with a wide range of internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, governance teams, and external audit and oversight bodies.
  • Line manage a Risk Officer and Senior Assurance Manager providing guidance and oversight.
