Risk Administrator

My client is one of the fastest-growing online marketplaces in the UK, built on the principles of fairness, transparency, and trust. We’re redefining eCommerce by creating a space where buyers and sellers thrive together. Our Verifications Team is at the heart of this mission—ensuring every seller meets our high standards and contributes to a safe, credible marketplace.

Our Risk Team plays a vital role in protecting the integrity of our marketplace—and we’re looking for a proactive Risk Administrator to help us stay ahead of emerging threats.

About the Role
As Risk Administrator, you’ll be at the forefront of our fraud prevention and compliance efforts. Working closely with the Head of Risk and senior leadership, you’ll implement our risk strategy and take decisive action based on key performance metrics. Your goal? Minimise financial, legal, and reputational risk while enabling sustainable growth.
You’ll monitor seller and buyer behaviour, investigate violations, and help refine scalable processes that keep our marketplace secure. This is a dynamic, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving complex problems.

Key Responsibilities

Seller Risk Mitigation
  • Monitor and investigate emerging risks across the business's seller base.
  • Support the Risk Manager and Head of Risk in refining KPIs and reporting tools.
  • Ensure sellers comply with our trading terms and policies.
  • Engage with sellers to address performance issues and take appropriate action to mitigate risk.
Product Compliance & Violations
  • Investigate reports submitted to the Product Violation desk.
  • Assist in developing scalable processes for proactive and reactive product compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely resolution of violations and third-party reports.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Daily review of high-risk buyers and sellers
  • Product violations actioned or escalated within 2 business days
  • Seller performance/support tickets actioned or escalated within 2 business days

Skills & Experience

Essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Open, honest, and approachable
  • Confident in constructively challenging and engaging sellers
Desirable
  • Experience in eCommerce, ideally within an online marketplace
  • Familiarity with buyer risk management
  • Ability to challenge assumptions and think critically
  • Experience querying databases

This is a temp role up the end of the year, possibly longer.
