Revenue Accountant required for an URGENT 6 month contract to start asap

Your new company
BS1 based business require help for 6 month contract

Your new role
We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant to join this team to help with year end, audit and a busy few months! This is an excellent opportunity for a part qualified/finalist level accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) who wants to make a real impact in a dynamic, purpose-driven organisation on a 6 month contract.
You’ll play a key role in producing accurate management accounts, supporting audits, and driving improvements in financial processes. Given the complexity of their revenue streams, you’ll also be heavily involved in revenue recognition and reconciliation processes, including accrued and deferred income management. This makes the role ideal for someone with strong technical skills who enjoys tackling complex financial challenges and translating them into clear, actionable insights for the business.
Key Responsibilities
  • Produce monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and insightful reporting to highlight key trends and drivers.
  • Lead on complex revenue reconciliation processes, ensuring accurate recognition of accrued and deferred income.
  • Support period-end close processes, maintaining financial accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting, aligning financial plans with strategic objectives.
  • Respond to financial and audit queries, preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and cost control.
  • Communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements to streamline reporting.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the transactional finance team when required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Part qualified/Finalist accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, particularly in revenue recognition and accrued/deferred income management.
  • Analytical and commercially astute, with the ability to link financial performance to business outcomes.
  • Proficient in Excel and confident with financial systems.
  • At least two years’ experience in a fast-paced finance team, ideally in a management accounting role.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships across teams.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to prioritise effectively under pressure.
  • A self-starter with curiosity, initiative, and a drive for continuous improvement.

What you'll get in return
  • Flexible working options available.
  • Competitive salary (£40–45k).
  • Hybrid working model with flexible hours.
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Pension, healthcare, and other benefits.
  • Professional development and ongoing training support.
  • A collaborative, forward-thinking culture where your input is valued.
