Repairs and Adaptation Building Surveyor Position

Your new company

Your new company's mission is to enable individuals who are older and disabled, or those on low incomes, and other vulnerable people, to get the support they can trust to live independently in the home of their choice. They are also not-for-profit. Any money generated goes back into the organisation to support our clients and help vulnerable people pay for essential work that they could not afford themselves.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Survey domestic properties and assess repair, maintenance, and adaptation needs.
  • Advise on remedial work, prepare specifications, and manage project costs.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and authorities to deliver high-quality building solutions.
  • Oversee projects from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with CDM and building regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on building defects, renovations, and sustainability measures.
  • Ensure health and safety standards and promote equality and diversity.
Person Specification:
  • HND/HNC in construction or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in residential project delivery, including disabled adaptations and heritage buildings.
  • Strong skills in defect diagnosis, project management, and contractor oversight.
  • Knowledge of Decent Homes Standards, HHSRS, CDM, and low-carbon retrofit measures.
  • Proficient in CAD design and heritage statement preparation.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel.

Benefits
Employees will benefit from the following: 25 days per year, rising to a maximum of 28 days (1 additional day for each additional year of service) + Bank Holidays.
