Leeds or remote - 12 month in-house real estate mat cover - part-time - October/November start

Hays Legal is instructed with this exceptional real estate role, a 12-month maternity cover, to be the sole UK-based property lawyer for this highly regarded international business.

Reporting to the Head of Legal and with a dotted line to the Head of Real Estate, you will be responsible for all legal work relating to real estate within England & Wales. Matters will include new and renewal leases, agreements for lease, licences for works, rent review memorandums, dilapidations agreements, serving break notices and managing break procedures, deeds of surrender, wayleaves, serviced accommodation and storage agreements.

You will be involved in landlord and tenant matters as well as on corporate matters and will liaise with the business on general real estate queries.

You will instruct local lawyers for matters in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Eire on more complex real estate matters within the jurisdictions.

This is a fabulous opportunity for a senior property specialist looking to experience life as an in-house lawyer, or in-house lawyer happy to take an FTC. You must have a real estate background at a recognised commercial law firm or highly regarded in-house team. You have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with senior level stakeholders throughout the organisation, the ability to think logically, work to deadlines and be flexible in your approach. Only those qualified in England & Wales will be considered.
