Multiple roles within growing health/social care regulatory team. Solicitors NQ level or above should apply.

I am looking to speak with solicitors who either already have experience of working in social care regulatory law, or newly qualified solicitors who are interested in transitioning into regulatory law and have legal experience within the healthcare / social care sectors. There are a number of opportunities available in my client’s Leeds team, which works on a hybrid basis (2 days a week in the office).

If you are a solicitor who falls into the categories listed above, I would be keen to speak with you about this opportunity, which will involve working exclusively on behalf of one of the most established regulators within the social care sector. You will have responsibility under the supervision of an experienced partner, and with the assistance of a paralegal for the day-to-day conduct of the regulator’s cases. More specifically, your duties will include:

  • Preparing advice on procedural or evidential issues;
  • Ensuring evidence where relevant is obtained and being a key contact for all witnesses concerned, in addition to taking a key role in interviewing said witnesses;
  • Overseeing the drafting of witness statements taken by paralegals;
  • Where required, instructing experts and preparing instructions for both internal and external counsel;
  • Having supervision of bundle preparation conducted by paralegals;
  • Attending hearings in the early stages and taking instructions from clients on issues that may arise during the course of hearings; and
  • Preparing final reports on the conclusion of cases and presenting cases to Practice Committees/Interim Orders Committees.

This is a chance for lawyers within commutable distance of Leeds and with an interest in regulatory legal work to join a team highly regarded in this sector and to get involved with top quality work, the significance of which has important and tangible consequences. Salary expectations can be discussed subject to candidates demonstrating the appropriate level of experience.

For further information about these roles, then please send your CV directly to Samuel.Higgins@hays.com or call 0113 200 3717 for a further confidential discussion about this opportunity.
