Recrutiment Officer | Hybrid | Northampton Based | Recrutiment Experience is Essential | £18 PH

Recruitment Officer
Location: Northampton (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home)
Salary: £27,000 per annum (prorated on temp basis)
Contract: 12‑week fixed term (potential to become permanent) Hours: 37.5 per week

Hays has partnered with one of our well-known, reputable clients that is looking for an enthusiastic, positive individual with a can‑do attitude to join their People & Culture team in a newly created Recruitment Officer role. This is an exciting chance to shape the future of recruitment in-house, supporting a review of our processes and systems, embedding best practice, and building a strong talent pipeline.

Your new role

  • Manage recruitment administration from offer letters to onboarding, ensuring a smooth candidate journey
  • Oversee compliance checks including right to work, DBS, and payroll documentation
  • Partner with hiring managers to review roles, provide updates, and support decision‑making with KPI data.
  • Head‑hunt for key roles and develop talent pipelines to meet future business needs
  • Screen applicants, conduct introductory calls, and ensure new starters feel welcomed and engaged.
  • Build NPH’s employer brand through career fairs and external partnerships
  • Support apprenticeship recruitment and agency relationship management
  • Coach managers on recruitment processes, interviewing, and system use
  • Contribute to wider People & Culture projects, embedding positive change across the organisation

What you'll need to succeed

  • A motivated, proactive recruiter / payroll / hr professional with strong organisational skills
  • A confident communicator able to build relationships with candidates, managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in recruitment administration and compliance processes
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure
  • Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is keen to make a difference
