Recreation Attendant – Public Sector – Newtownards

Your new company

A recreation attendant ensures patrons have a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience at a recreation facility by supervising activities, maintaining cleanliness, assisting guests with enquiries, and enforcing rules and regulations. Key duties include setting up and taking down equipment, performing cleaning and light maintenance tasks, monitoring activities for safety, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication, customer service skills, dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team.

Your new role

  1. Perform any duties which ensure that the programme of activities within the facilities operates smoothly, efficiently and safely and in the best interests of the user.
  2. Perform all duties in a manner which ensures that a high standard of customer care is achieved at all times.
  3. Supervise all indoor and outdoor areas as required to ensure that the facilities operate safely and efficiently.
  4. Directly participate in the delivery of the facilities activities as and where required and appropriate to the individual’s training and qualifications.
  5. The post holder will be required to use as required any skills or qualifications that were relied upon to secure their appointment.
  6. Undertake administration/reception duties and cash handling duties associated with the post.
  7. Act as a steward, attendant and any other related duties during events or courses being held at the location

What you'll need to succeed

1. Experience in cash handing

2. Experience of keeping records
3. Experience in customer service
4. Have an understanding of the needs of the public
5. Must be prepared to work on a rota, which includes days, evenings, weekends & public holidays.
6. Happy to undertake enhanced access NI
