Recovery Worker - Birmingham - Temporary - Minimum 3 months - Up to £23 per hour dependent on experience

Your new company

This is a respected national charity operating across the West Midlands, dedicated to supporting individuals in overcoming challenges related to substance misuse, mental health, and social disadvantage. The organisation delivers a wide range of services designed to help people change the direction of their lives, grow as individuals, and achieve lasting recovery.

Your new role

The postholder will be responsible for delivering tailored interventions to identified service users, with the aim of engaging individuals in the most appropriate services for their needs. This approach is designed to reduce re-presentations and support positive, sustainable outcomes. A key aspect of the role involves strengthening joint working protocols between mental health and substance misuse services, including collaboration with external partners for full access to all services.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have experience working within substance misuse and/or mental health settings, with a particular focus on supporting individuals with co-occurring conditions. They will demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding best practices and have a proven track record of managing a caseload of clients with complex needs. The role requires knowledge of appropriate therapeutic interventions for individuals with dual diagnosis, as well as a sound understanding of current policy, guidance, and legislation relating to mental health and substance misuse. The successful applicant will be confident in working collaboratively with a wide range of professionals and partner agencies, and will possess excellent interpersonal and team working skills, maintaining a cooperative and supportive approach to achieving shared service objectives.

The successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

What you'll get in return

This is a temporary role for a minimum of 3 months, providing an excellent opportunity to work for a market-leading support provider to vulnerable individuals. You will be paid an hourly rate of up to £23 per hour depending on experience, with an immediate start required.
