Recovery Coordinator – Criminal Justice

We are recruiting for a Recovery Coordinator – Criminal Justice to join the team on a temporary basis (3 months).

Primary responsibility will be to support individuals identified through the Criminal Justice System in reducing the harms associated with substance misuse.

This is a full-time post based at the service in Manchester. Attendance is required every day.

We are offering hourly rates between £18 - £21 and option to be paid PAYE or Umbrella.


Your new role

  • Support individuals referred through the Criminal Justice System to reduce substance misuse–related harm.
  • Contribute to lowering reoffending rates by promoting healthier choices and recovery pathways.
  • Work directly with service users to encourage social reintegration and community participation.
  • Enable service users to build meaningful, purposeful lives through resilience, peer support, and self‑determination.
  • Collaborate closely with the National Probation Service (NPS) from agreed premises.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and/or experience working within the criminal justice or related field.
  • Experience supporting and advising participants facing complex and/or multiple barriers to success.
  • Experience of working within Criminal Justice Partnerships and/or within a multi‑agency team environment.
  • Knowledge of effective interventions that reduce drug‑related crime.
  • Experience conducting full assessments, with the ability to identify, manage, escalate and reduce risks.
