Reception Teacher

We’re proudly supporting a warm, values-led Church of England primary in Wednesbury. The school is known for its nurturing, inclusive environment where each child is cherished as an individual. With a strong community spirit, high expectations, and a commitment to whole-child development, the team champions curiosity, kindness, and resilience. The Early Years provision is well-resourced, child-centred, and play-based, with a focus on language-rich classrooms, early literacy and numeracy, and strong partnerships with families.

We are seeking a dedicated Reception Teacher to lead a class of 17 Reception children on a full-time basis from January through July. You’ll be responsible for the planning, preparation and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate learning across the EYFS framework, ensuring excellent progress for every child.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Plan sequenced, purposeful learning aligned to the EYFS Statutory Framework
  • Deliver high-quality phonics and early reading sessions with clear progression
  • Create a stimulating, language-rich learning environment with continuous provision
  • Use effective assessment (including observations) to inform next steps.
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and inclusive practice
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues and families to support each child
  • Contribute to wider school life and uphold its Christian values and ethos
  • You will benefit from dedicated PPA time each week to prepare and refine your practice.
What you'll need to succeed:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or equivalent)
  • Proven EYFS classroom experience (Reception preferred)
  • Strong phonics knowledge and the ability to secure excellent early reading outcomes
  • Skilled in observation-led assessment and responsive planning
  • Confident with continuous provision and purposeful play
  • Committed to safeguarding, inclusion and high expectations for all learners
  • Collaborative, reflective, and enthusiastic about professional growth
What you'll get in return :
  • Paid up to £200 per day (depending on experience)
  • Free CV and interview advice.
  • Receive the benefits of working with your own personal consultant.
  • We will support you by looking for more roles when this role ends.
  • Receive £250 in high street vouchers every time you recommend a friend to us
