Reception SEN Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start – Kilburn

Your new role

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Reception-aged pupil with complex and severe special educational needs in a mainstream primary school based in Kilburn. This is a full-time role to start immediately, with long-term potential.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be working 1:1 with a pupil who presents highly challenging behaviour, including physical aggression and biting. The child has significant communication and sensory needs, and requires a consistent, calm, and confident adult to support them throughout the school day. You must be able to implement behaviour strategies, work closely with the SENCO and external professionals, and maintain a safe and nurturing environment.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with severe SEN, ideally in EYFS or KS1
  • Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience
  • Team Teach or similar de-escalation training (desirable)
  • DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one

What you'll get in return

  • Competitive daily rate
  • Supportive school leadership and SEN team
  • Opportunity to make a real impact on a child’s early development
  • Ongoing CPD and training opportunities
