Freelance Quantity Surveyor (Civils) needed, Liverpool.
Your new company
Hays are partnered with a well-established civil engineering contractor, operating nationally, who are seeking a freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to support delivery of a long-term highways framework in the North West.
Manage commercial delivery of asphalt surfacing schemes under NEC4 contracts.
Oversee subcontractor procurement, payments, and change control.
Lead cost forecasting, valuations, and reporting across multiple workstreams.
Handle compensation events and ensure NEC4 compliance.
Collaborate with delivery teams and maintain strong client relationships.
Monitor risks, performance, and framework KPIs.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Strong working knowledge of NEC4 contracts is essential
- Previous UK-based experience is essential. You will not be considered without
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in highways or civil engineering.
- Experience working on frameworks for local authorities or public sector clients.
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
