Freelance Quantity Surveyor - Groundworks | January Start - 2 Year Project | Cheltenham | Generous Day Rate

Your new company

You’ll be joining a well-established civil engineering contractor working on a major infrastructure development in Cheltenham. The project is set to start in January and will run for approximately two years, offering long-term stability on a rolling freelance contract.

Your new role

As a Freelance Quantity Surveyor, you’ll oversee cost management and contractual obligations for large-scale groundwork and concrete frame packages. This is primarily office-based, with travel required between two project sites within the region. You’ll handle valuations, variations, subcontractor accounts, and reporting, working under JCT contracts (experience with JCT/NEC3/NEC4 is highly desirable).

What you'll need to succeed

Proven experience in groundwork and concrete frame projects.
Strong understanding of JCT contracts (NEC3/NEC4 experience is advantageous).
Ability to work independently on a freelance basis.
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites.
