Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor, Lincoln, £45,000 - £65,000 + + package

A successful and well established contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor either at intermediate or senior level to join the team. With impressive builds and refurbishments across a variety of sectors including education, healthcare, residential, retail and affordable housing, this contractor now has a requirement for a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing construction team and be responsible for managing their upcoming projects. This is an excellent long-term opportunity to work for a fantastic business.

Your new role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards. You will be responsible for the cost estimating, tendering, delivery and management of a variety of projects as well as providing regular updates on the performance of on-going projects valued up to £20mil.

  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
  • Performing risk, value management, and cost control
  • Advising on procurement strategy
  • Identifying, analysing, and developing responses to commercial risks
  • Preparing and analysing costings for tenders
  • Allocating work to subcontractors
  • Providing advice on contractual claims
  • Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience managing build / refurbishment projects within a variety of sectors. You will have strong knowledge of construction methods and materials, excellent numerical and IT skills, strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities and be able to drive projects forward.

You must have good technical knowledge and skills in the construction sector and a good knowledge of commonly used contracts and frameworks. Ideally, you will hold a formal qualification in quantity surveying at degree level. However, candidates will be considered with HND/ HNC qualifications and relevant experience.
