Civils QS wanted for a Tier 1 Civils Contractor based on the outskirts of Glasgow.

Quantity Surveyor - Civils - Glasgow

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 Civils contractor in the East side Glasgow, this is a full-time role that offers hybrid working between home and office.

In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact for all commercial matters within the account, working in close collaboration with Project Managers, Finance, and Delivery teams. You’ll partner with their finance colleagues to ensure robust cost control across projects and support Project Managers in monitoring budgets and forecasting.

They are looking for someone who has experience running their own projects and understands commercial, contractual, legal, budgets, subcontract management, client facing etc.

- Ideally commercially trained, although other relatable degrees are considered (engineering)
- Must have project lead experience
- Must have experience managing client, subcontractors, and suppliers alike

This is a unique opportunity to champion commercial best practices—maximising value while minimising risk and cost for the client.

What You’ll Do:

- Robust commercial management of subcontractors and supply chain partners, including the preparation, review and evaluation of subcontract enquiries, quotations and payments, final accounts and input to dispute resolution.
- Ensure Applications for Payment are submitted on time and ensure the Company recovers full entitlement for all works and variations.
- Ensuring timely issuing of all notices required under the Contract(s)
- Support the CVR reporting process
- Ensuring compliance with the client's systems, processes and procedures to deliver post-contract management

What You’ll Bring:

- A strong understanding of commercial reporting and implementation, supported by your excellent stakeholder management skills.
- A proven track record in a similar role will give you the confidence to be self-sufficient and work on your own initiative.
- It is desirable you will have previous experience in the civil engineering industry to be considered for this role.
